We are all getting busy with the last preparations of this time of year. It's soon Christmas and we are looking forward to spending time with family and friends. Of course, we'll get busy blogging again soon, but until then...

Having a ball at the Light festival in Lyon

The light festival in Lyon was not only about lights, but also about having a ball. I think you'll understand what I mean...

Glittery snow

When it snows in the UK, it tends to bring the country to a stand still. This time, It was the festive period. We were very lucky to experience a white Christmas. As we went for a stroll in the lovely English countryside, the natural glitter on the trees caught my eye.

The truth is it was a beautiful day and felt like we were in a fairy tale.

The Colours of the Light Festival in Lyon

The Lyon Light festival has become a well-known event and I was lucky to be one of the many visitors.

This series is the same light display with each shot taken at different times. One colour after another, as if trying to capture the show.

Which colour is yours?

Silently frozen

(For Project 52 - "le silence" - Un Monde En Photos by Donlope)

I previously showed a black and white photo of a frozen sea, taken in the South of Sweden.

For me, a long stretch of the sea freezing to a rock solid material is a surreal concept. Maybe that's why I keep going on about it. But please let me share a few more photos of this frozen sea. And before you look at the photos, just try to imagine the following...

It's summer. Everyone is making the most of the beautiful and warm weather. Everyone is enjoying the beach, playing with the white sand and splashing about in the sea. The water is very shallow and its temperature really warm.

Can you hear silence? .... I can't. Everyone is enjoying themselves too much.

It's winter. The temperatures have dropped down to about -10 degrees C. The beach is deserted, except for the few walkers daring to come out in the freezing cold. You can't see the limit between the sand and the sea. It has all frozen over and snowed on top, leaving a very soft white layer.

Can you hear silence?

As you look closely you realise the roughness of the texture.

Will you dare walk on the ice, breaking the silence?

Have a nice week-end, not too icy, I hope.

For information, these photos are taken from Bjärred's Beach in Sweden. Just opposite Copenhagen (which you can guess if you look close enough).

Fresh white snow

This time has come...All the children are full with excitement because the snow has arrived. They cannot wait to play in the cold to make snow angels, snowman, ball fights. You know what I mean, we've all done it and loved it.

This morning, I have not adventured myself outside yet, as I feel too cosy inside. So it's in the warmth that I have gone back into memory lane to share some snowy photos of my time in Sweden.

If it's snowing where you are, enjoy it! Have fun.
